Power to the People:
MLEC Solar Assist Bushfire Affected Local

MLEC Solar came to the rescue of a fire affected local in Gidgegannup recently by installing a much needed Tesla Powerwall 2 on their bush block - which now supplies electricity to the house after two and a half weeks without power.

Paul, a Gidgegannup local of over 16 years, was chuffed to have MLEC come out and install a new Tesla Powerwall on his home, enabling his off grid solar system to be fully up and running again.

‘Having the Tesla Powerwall powering my house goes beyond just being able to flick the lights on again!’ Paul remarked, ‘It means I can run an extension cord to the pump at the dam so we can have running water again - which is fantastic.’

Paul and his family had been working a solid decade growing a two hundred fruit tree orchard on the property, which was unfortunately decimated in the bushfires.

‘We had every fruit tree you could imagine - any other time it would be a luscious green colour, when you see it all brown and burnt - it's heartbreaking’

The hardy Paul takes the loss on his chin and counts his lucky stars his house wasn’t lost - due to ‘great preparation measures’. Many of his neighbours were sadly not so lucky, with 86 properties and 11,000 hectares destroyed in the recent fires.

MLEC Solar’s co-founder, Matt Morrision oversaw the new Tesla Powerwall 2 install, with a 13.5kwh battery storage capacity, on Paul’s property and remarked how the already present solar system meant the Powerall addition meant the system could start charging instantly and have power flowing at the flick of a switch.

‘We’re pretty damn happy’, Paul commented, ‘I saw MLEC Solar on Facebook and simply made an enquiry - next thing I knew we were being offered one of these Tesla Powerwalls absolutely gratis and without request - MLEC didn’t want a thing for it! We were chuffed to say the least.’

MLEC has an ongoing commitment to helping support struggling locals in need by offering a free solar install a month to well-deserving individuals and groups. Last December  MLEC Solar donated and installed a solar system for the Native Animal Rescue in Malaga.

When quizzed on site about MLEC’s keenness to lend a helping hand to those struggling, co-founder Matt Morrison simply said ‘We’re a local WA company always happy to help out local homes and businesses in need’.
